Listed in Google

Well, maybe I can help - but you have to do your bit first. I'll happily give you a link but only if you can satisfy five criteria;

  1. Google tip 1) Your site has to validate.
  2. Google tip 2) Your site has to have no broken links.
  3. Google tip 3) If your site uses a redirect, it has to work properly.
  4. Google tip 4) It all has to be spelled correctly.
  5. (Google tip 5) It must have an existing link to me on it.

Let's expand on those Google tips a little bit. You'll have to validate your HTML/XHTML to W3C standards and you can check that on the W3C validator (you might find it a bit quicker trying the WDG HTML Validator as you can quickly and easily do rather more of your whole site there). I'll exclude things like javascripts (which should be externalised anyway in most cases) and third-party scripting in general because I know you'll have very little if any control over them. Google have themselves asked in the past that sites be made to validate, although that request didn't survive for very long in their Google Webmasters Advice section. Running a link checker over your site is something you should be doing anyway and if you really need a freebie then try Xenu. Now, redirects. You got your web hosting from some freebie hoster and your domain name from www.el.cheapo.com. You go into the control panel and tweak things so that www.yourdomain.com points at your site over at el.cheapo. Only, er, guess what? It doesn't! And you can tell it doesn't by popping over to Webconfs Redirect Checker and testing it. So why don't you try that before asking me, eh? And lastly, I'll be looking to see a link to me. One that Google will be able to follow. I don't care what it says, particularly, at this stage though I would prefer that it mentioned seo or Google in the anchor text. Somewhere. And please, again, no tricky stuff munging it with javascripts or thinking you're hoarding your PR (which you won't have for some time anyway) by using the nofollow tag.
Why am I doing this? I'm suggesting this for both our sakes. I need InBound Links from a decent site or ten as it boosts my standing with Google, and as you want to rank in Google you need an inbound link from a site that's regularly spidered by Google so you can actually get into the Google index in the first place. And once you're in Google, of course, you'll likely do a whole lot better in the Google rankings than you would have if Google can trust your site content (because your site validates and it can understand the spelling), Google can find it in the first place (because your redirect works) and because when it gets there Google can actually find *all* your site (because you don't have broken links). So it's a good idea for me, and it's a good idea for you! K?
