How to write an article a day - the e-book.
Here's an ebook about how to write articles. It's sound, sensible advice from a woman who knows her stuff and if you're new to all this or even just considering getting into it then you should buy this, no question. Buy it, read it, then come back.
No self-promotion or affiliate links. Titles Must be Written Like This. You're allowed to put three self-serving links into your author box which will appear appended to the text in the article body. Some html tags are allowed. You'll need to leave a clear line between paragraphs. They'll auto-format a valid full (not a relative) url.
Has a preview which helps a lot. Submissions should be made in plain text. Links are allowed in copy. They seem to accept anything - within reason, of course.
No affiliate links as usual. A link to your own site is ok. Links in the Author's Box - called a Resource Box here - are fine.
Currently not accepting new articles - 5th Feb 2006
No HTML in the article body text or in the author's box at all. They do seem to publish anything, though, they even have a site promotion category which is handy! It takes a long time to get admitted and they don't seem to advise you either way so you just have to keep looking back and checking.
Yada.
The site will include urls in the body text, starting it with www. will be sufficient, no need to put html in.
No self-advertising here or affiliate links here. No html except the customary bold or italic in the body texts. They've beefed up the author box, though.
SEO Stoopid was accepted here so some self-publicity is allowed. There's no separate author box so I put my html links et al at the bottom of the main copy.
NO HTML, they say, firmly. You can put your url in the author box but not as a link - you'll see.
Doesn't seem to be accepting submissions 11/02/06.
This is just for SEO and related subjects.
The Emporium seems to be closed for business. Let's hope this is temporary. It seems to be a feature of the more popular submission services that they become overwhelmed at times.
This service would seem to be more for existing authors, established writers. They seem a great deal tougher to submit to than most of the others. Which, if you're writing articles of quality, can only be a good thing.
A Yahoo Group. A lot of work...
Another Yahoo Group...
Full html links in the copy and the author box.
That's a short list. You want a long list, go here; article submission sites.
All the above are article distribution sites, each covering a range of article subjects. Remember, if you write a crap article, it'll probably get published anyway as (so far as I can determine) so long as submissions fall within certain "quality" (ha!) guidelines (no porn, no obscenities or libel etc.) then they'll be published and you'll get a backlink. If you want to realise the potential of these sites and get backlinks from the republishing of your articles, well then you'll need to get serious about the content as not just any old tosh will be picked up for redistribution. So, the more time and expertise you can invest in your writing, the better return you'll get on that investment. To help you, I've put up a list of useful article research resources
If writing a coherent article is beyond you, you may well want to try buying in a pre-written article on an appropriate subject. Articlepr.com can help you with this.
If you feel your meisterwork needs a touch more , er, meistering, try having it edited at EditAvenue, the online editing collective.
There are one or two sites out there who will distribute your article for you to the main article sites. They don't do it for free, but it will mean that you only have to fill your details in once, as opposed to doing it over and over for each site you submit your articles to. Article Sender.com is one such site, Isnare seems to be another.
Article Dashboard enables you to set up your own article site. Whether you'd want to or not is debatable but you can have folk submit their articles to you and you can make them available for distribution just like the existing sites do.
Then we come to Article Announcer. This will distribute your articles all over the place and will, I gather, fill in a lot of the title, synopsis, and author boxes etc. in for you. It seems to do a whole lot else besides but I couldn't be bothered find out as I didn't want to plough through all the obvious sales talk to get to read what the software actually does. Nor am I impressed that the home site selling it seems to have considerably less backlinks than I do here on KIS. So you must make your own mind up without my recommendation.
